Hi Folks, my name is Daniel. I am a trade mark attorney and lawyer specialising in intellectual property matters.
My firm is called McIntosh IP – it’s a boutique IP firm located in Melbourne. I provide advice and services relating to all areas of intellectual property law, including copyrights, designs, patents, domain names, and trade marks, though it’s fair to say the bulk of my work is in relation to trade marks.
My clients include a range of businesses and people. Probably what I enjoy most is getting the opportunity to hear people’s stories because, for me, it bestows a personal interest in the matter. For my part, I also believe IP law to be the most interesting area of the law and I have studied it internationally and at a postgraduate level.
I enjoy working for myself because it gives me more freedom and the rewards when things succeed are more enjoyable.
Prior to working as a lawyer, I worked as a scientific researcher for an Australian biotech company.
Outside of work I love to travel with recent trips including South America, China, Russia and India.
